November 2023 Newsletter

From the Director

They say that generous giving follows dynamic programming—that people contribute to organizations and causes that are visible, making a difference, and well run. The good news is that the Truth School is visible (with class participants signing on from 33 states and 16 countries), making a difference (I wish I could send you the many evaluations we receive each semester), and well run (we run a tight ship, organized, and efficient).

And so we believe your contributions to keep the Truth School alive and well will follow because we are successful by any measure and want to continue to thrive.

We do not ask for your gifts often. Some folks say we ask too infrequently! But we are asking now. Please know your contribution to the Truth School will be well spent to compensate our remarkable trainers, pay our hosts, and cover the other expenses of running what is now a national movement-building School. We know how to use every dime and stretch every dollar.

Our annual budget is $133,000 and so my question is: what part of that can you contribute? No gift is too small and no gift is too large.

Maybe you can donate today by using the DONATE button at the bottom of this message. Or maybe you are planning your annual contributions to be donated on GIVING TUESDAY, which is November 28, 2023. Gifts are welcome anytime, and in this season of giving we ask that you put us on your list.

Maybe you do not love giving online. That’s fine too! Checks can be made payable to Truth School and mailed to 649 State Street, Springfield, MA 01109.

Join our circle of generous donors who keep the Truth School humming. Know that we are offering FREE classes online each week—teaching critical movement-building skills, connecting activists across the country, bringing hope, and strengthening individuals and organizations to create change on the local, regional and national levels.

With all my heart I thank you for your generosity,

Donate to the Truth School

"Do not be dismayed by the brokenness of the world. All things break. And all things can be mended. Not with time, as they say, but with intention. So go. Love intentionally, extravagantly, unconditionally. The broken world waits in darkness for the light that is you." --L. R. Knost

Columnist Andrea Ayvazian: Gratitude for a church and a life blessing

It was almost seven years ago, after I had retired as senior minister from a church in the Hilltowns, that I began worshiping at different churches in Holyoke and Springfield.
