Nonviolent Direct Action Training
Nonviolent direct action training is essential to movement building. It provides a basic foundation about the tenets and history of nonviolence, nonviolent action, community building, understanding the legal process, democratic decision-making using consensus, creating affinity groups for mutual support, and reflections for discernment about whether to engage in civil disobedience/risking arrest. Everyone is welcome and participants are expected to stay for the entire 7.5 hours.
[Note: This full-day training serves as the prerequisite for the Peacekeeper Training class to be held on November 11, 2017.]
