This class will teach teens how to use their influence as young people to lobby state legislators to pass strong climate legislation. In three hours, they will come to understand the basics of our Massachusetts legislature and the important political players, learn about the current state-level climate change bills, and practice effective communication strategies for lobbying at the statehouse. After the training, they will join other local teen leaders who recently received this training and have begun meeting with their state representatives. They will become part of a teen climate lobby movement in western Massachusetts that is demanding protection of their future!

Teens will be inspired by the example of trainer, Rep. Solomon Goldstein-Rose, currently the youngest representative in the Massachusetts state house. They will also learn tangible skills and strategies from seasoned climate activists, Adele Franks and Lilly Lombard.

We will serve a substantial, healthy, yummy snack. Class is capped at 15 students.
