Class description

Nonviolent direct action training is essential to movement building. This class provides a basic foundation in relation to the tenets and history of nonviolence, nonviolent action, community building, understanding the legal process, democratic decision-making using consensus, creating affinity groups for mutual support, and reflections for discernment about whether to engage in civil disobedience/risking arrest. Everyone is welcome and participants are expected to stay for the entire six hours.

Note: This workshop serves as the pre-requisite for the Peacekeeper Training on May 12, 2018.
