Elder Workshop: Living as Though This Were Your Last Day While Planning to Live Forever

Saturday, February 23, 2019; 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
Easthampton Council on Aging, 19 Union Street, Easthampton

Trainer: Dr. Carlie C. Tartakov, Emerita Professor, Multicultural and Antiracist Educator, Social Justice Activist
Trainer: Paki Wieland, Citizen Activist, Nonviolent Practitioner and Trainer

In this workshop we will ask the question: How are we living the last third of our lives? Becoming an elder involves both privileges and responsibilities. We have responsibilities to our ancestors and to future generations. In this gathering, we will discuss the cultural differences that exist in our families, and we will share the gifts and strengths in our different cultural backgrounds. We will also discuss emotional support: where do we find it, and to whom do we give it? The workshop will be interactive and participatory. All elders welcome!
