November 15, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm EST

Movement building is a process that requires strategic planning, organizational skills, and civic literacy. This class will expose learners to the meaning and varying activities of civic engagement. By examining and discussing the civic process and economic philosophy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Arden will demonstrate how one of the most influential movements in American history established specific objectives and achieved their goals. The Untold Narrative Series provides a window into the main determinants of successful movements. An overarching goal of this workshop is to help participants identify appropriate avenues of civic engagement to create lasting change on social justice issues. Come ready to learn, engage, question, stretch, and lay plans for more effective organizing. It is highly recommended that participants join from a laptop or desktop for an optimal learning experience.
