FreeToo often, Islam is misunderstood, misquoted, and misinterpreted. Join Tahirah for a workshop that covers the basic tenets and beliefs of the Muslim faith. Bring your questions and confusions and share in a judgment-free discussion. Tahirah is eager to respond to your inquiries, clear up misinformation, and share her lived experience as a practicing Muslim woman. All are welcome, join us.

Tahirah Amatul-Wadud
Tahirah Amatul-Wadud is the Executive Director and Chief Legal Officer for the Massachusetts chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations. She is a former Commissioner for the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women. In the 2018 primary, she was a Democratic candidate for the Massachusetts 1st Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. Tahirah received numerous local and national endorsements. Her challenge made national news, including being featured on CNN, and in The Huffington Post, The Associated Press, and The New York Times. Tahirah secured nearly 30% of the vote and helped to inspire a higher than anticipated voter turnout.
