This workshop is for activists who want to increase their effectiveness, think through the difference between organizing and mobilizing, and discuss levers of power on the local, regional and national levels. Interactive and empowering, this class will help individuals and communities identify their spheres of influence and make positive, long-lasting change. Gladys Franco is a community organizer and educational leader. Gladys is the Clerk of the Migration Advocacy Committee and Chair of the Board of Directors for The Resistance Center for Peace and Justice. She previously served as the campaign manager for Adam Gomez State Senate election and as the vice-chair of the Board of Directors for the Puerto Rican Cultural Center in Springfield. She holds several academic degrees and has over 15 years of experience in the field of education. She is currently a Special Education Coordinator in the Department of Youth Services and the County Houses of Correction in the Western, Central, and Northeast regions of the State through the Collaborative for Educational Services.
