Healthcare is a Human Right: Effective Advocacy for Single Payer in Massachusetts

Thursday, May 16, 2019; 6:00 – 8:00 pm
170 Main Street, Greenfield

Trainer: Beth Eisenberg is a Training Coordinator for Western MA Medicare for All, and is a retired Social Worker

This workshop will provide an overview of Single Payer health care (sometimes called “Medicare for All”). We will discuss how it works and how it addresses the problems we currently face in our fragmented, profit-driven health care system. Participants will have the opportunity to use their own health care experiences as a way to explore and understand these problems. We will also examine the main arguments against Single Payer, the ideology that drives that opposition, and ways to respond. Finally, participants will learn about the current Medicare for All bill proposed in Massachusetts and how to join the vibrant and growing grassroots movement for Single Payer in our state.
