Sonia Nieto, an author whose books focus on multicultural education and diversity, was a professor of language, literacy, and culture for 25 years at the College of Education, UMass. Before that, she was a professor of Puerto Rican Studies at Brooklyn College and, prior to that, a teacher and curriculum specialist in NYC public schools.
