Loretta J. Ross is an Associate Professor in the Program for the Study of Women and Gender, Smith College, Northampton, MA. Professor Ross has been an activist and social change organizer since the 1970s, working at many organizations, including, among others, the D.C. Rape Crisis Center, the National Organization for Women (NOW), the National Black Women’s Health Project, the Center for Democratic Renewal (National Anti-Klan Network), and the National Center for Human Rights Education. She retired as an organizer in 2012 to teach about activism. Her passion transforms anger into social justice to change the world. She is the author of several books, and winner of a MacArthur Foundation "Genius" Award.
